Off-and-on for the past several weeks I’ve been working on a freelance WordPress plugin for the Market Theme, a premium WordPress theme that converts your site into an online store. The release of the plugin coincides with the release of Market 3, a brand new version that lets the user have both a dedicated blog and a store in one.
The theme is top notch. It makes selling both digital goods and mailed good extremely simple. So what was my role? I designed the Market Product Manager plugin which provides a much easier way to add products into the system. The theme, as most advanced themes, relies heavily on custom fields. For many users, however, custom…

I just thought I’d update you guys on the status of the new threads for Simply-Basic. I’ve been working on a new theme for a few days. I purchased a theme template from ThemeSpinner so that I could customize it. Unfortunately, it was so poorly coded that I’m having to redo a lot of it myself (I’ll write more on that in another post in the future). So it is going much slower then I had hoped.
Don’t expect much to be the same. Colors, layout, logo, it’s all changing. I know I’m breaking the cardinal rule of website redesign, but Simply-Basic is an eye soar and needs it! Here’s what you can look for in the…

The other day I was trying to figure out which ink cartridge went to my printer and was having the darnedest time. Then through the Google Powers-That-Be I came across Carrot Ink, a store for off-brand, refurbished, and OEM inkjet cartridges, toner, and other printer related goods.

For example, I was looking for Epson ink cartridges and canon ink cartridges for my home printers. After selecting that manufacturer a long list of possible printers appears. Just select yours and then it tells…

I’ve just released version 1.2 of Smart Ads, a WordPress plugin that allows users to automatically (yet intelligently!) insert advertisments like Adsense before and after their posts. This version brings three new features to the plugin.
First, users can chose to hide the advertisment that is placed before the post content if their content begins with an image. This helps save the formatting of their posts.
Second, custom ads can be inserted by placing <!-smartads-> or {smartads} into the post or page content based on the users settings in the Options menu. This allows users who use the visual editor to bypass WordPress’s default “I hate HTML” mentality by using something other then an HTML comment.
Finally, the…
