Your WordPress Plugin Wishlist
I have been having a lot of fun with Smart Ads, my recently released WordPress plugin. I enjoy developing it, tweaking it, and getting feed back from people. I’m still giving it more features, but I’m ready to start thinking toward the next project. So here’s my question for you: what plugin does WordPress need? What ideas do you have for a plugin that would make your life easier?
Be realistic, and if you’re lucky, maybe I’ll take your idea on as a project! Leave your suggestions in the comments.

What I would love to see is a wordpress plugin that obfuscates email addresses that are in posts or comments by turning them into an image.
Similar to this mod for vbulletin:

@Rodney: Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond to your comment! That is a great idea for a plugin. It’s too bad I dont’ have a license for Vbulletin so I can see the source code of their plugin. I’ll take a look at this and see if it will make a doable summer project. Thanks for the tip!
wouldn’t that result in spam issues by showing the email or have i totally lost the plot here? surely asking people to show their email address could possibly result in people not leaving a comment?
JUST A THOUGHT!!!!
@seo company: Sometimes people post their email address on their sites for one reason or another. Sometimes for a contest, sometimes they want a quick way for people to contact them. My plugin idea was to turn the email address into an IMAGE so that it would be harder for spam harvesters to pick up. It has nothing to do with asking people to show their email address.
I’d like to see a plugin that would easily implement the gallery type function that Matt has on his site at ma.tt. Doing it through the code isn’t too hard, just a bit of trial and error, but to have a plugin that you just activate, switch over to it’s options and enter in the category id for the gallery would be snug. Just an idea :)

Not sure if you saw already, but I released a plugin based on your idea of obfuscating email addresses. It’s called Email Protect and can be found here.
