Facelift in Progress
I just thought I’d update you guys on the status of the new threads for Simply-Basic. I’ve been working on a new theme for a few days. I purchased a theme template from ThemeSpinner so that I could customize it. Unfortunately, it was so poorly coded that I’m having to redo a lot of it myself (I’ll write more on that in another post in the future). So it is going much slower then I had hoped.
Don’t expect much to be the same. Colors, layout, logo, it’s all changing. I know I’m breaking the cardinal rule of website redesign, but Simply-Basic is an eye soar and needs it! Here’s what you can look for in the new design:
- New logo
- New color scheme
- Slight hint of “grunge”
- Latest post will be “featured” on the homepage
- A special place for video tutorials/reviews on the homepage
- Dynamic side bar on a per-page basis
- Wider content column for larger images and more content
- and others!
Hopefully I’ll have an image in the next few days I can post of my progress. Thanks for your patience .
