As the title suggests, my email’s back up and running. It’s now hosted with Google Apps. I’m going to spend some time messing around with it and will let you all know how it works.

I’ve finally finished uploading the new design for Simply-Basic.com. It took a little longer then I expected, but thing’s went pretty smoothly. The blog brings a new look (come out of your RSS readers!) comes from a modified version of the Arthemia theme. The homepage has a slight magazine-feel to it, yet keeps the true blog format
With the new look comes a stronger resolve and improved focus. I’m got some great ideas for tutorials and reviews, including videos! Take a few minutes and look around. Let me know of any bugs or problems you see. Since it’s already nearly 2:00 in the morning I’ll right up all the changes tomorrow, but I hope you enjoy the new…

As many of you know I’ve been working on redesigning Simply-Basic for a few weeks now. I’ve gone through two premium themes and various free themes trying to find one that I could customize to my liking. I’d redesign it from scratch but just don’t have the time. I’m happy to tell you I’ve finally found one that is exactly to my liking.
I’ve been costomizing it for a few days and it’s nearly completed. I’m hoping to re-launch Simply-Basic no later then this coming weekend. The site will be down for 2-3 hours while I upload the theme and create all the new pages and test it. I’ll send out an annoucement a few hours…

Off-and-on for the past several weeks I’ve been working on a freelance WordPress plugin for the Market Theme, a premium WordPress theme that converts your site into an online store. I designed the Market Product Manager plugin which provides a much easier way to add products into the system. The theme, as most advanced themes, relies heavily on custom fields. For many users, however, custom…

I just thought I’d update you guys on the status of the new threads for Simply-Basic. I’ve been working on a new theme for a few days. I purchased a theme template from ThemeSpinner so that I could customize it. Unfortunately, it was so poorly coded that I’m having to redo a lot of it myself (I’ll write more on that in another post in the future). So it is going much slower then I had hoped.
Don’t expect much to be the same. Colors, layout, logo, it’s all changing. I know I’m breaking the cardinal rule of website redesign, but Simply-Basic is an eye soar and needs it! Here’s what you can look for in the…

I’ve just released version 1.2 of Smart Ads, a WordPress plugin that allows users to automatically (yet intelligently!) insert advertisments like Adsense before and after their posts. This version brings three new features to the plugin.
First, users can chose to hide the advertisment that is placed before the post content if their content begins with an image. This helps save the formatting of their posts.
Second, custom ads can be inserted by placing <!-smartads-> or {smartads} into the post or page content based on the users settings in the Options menu. This allows users who use the visual editor to bypass WordPress’s default “I hate HTML” mentality by using something other then an HTML comment.
Finally, the…
