WordPress 2.5 was released to the public today in an announcement apparently made at WordCamp Dallas. Along with the public release comes face lift for WordPress.org. I’ve still got a little work to make sure all the plugins I’m using will work in 2.5, but I’ll be upgrading as soon as I can see what the damage is.
The new WordPress version sports a very customizable admin interface, improved security, image gallery options, and more. Have you upgraded yet?

I have not been hearing all good things from the beta testers, so I personally am going to hold off on the update for a bit and see how things go.
I was contemplating the same thing. Then I tried to do a little test. I upgraded my wordpress 2.3.2, 2.3.3, 2.5 rc1, 2.5 rc2 and 2.5 rc3 wordpress installations on my home test server, also created a new install and all my thiings were working fine without a hitch. so upgraded my public blog as well..

i’m testing it on my localhost first, since i’m not used to it’s whole new admin dashboard things. i don’t want to get any trouble while it’s on air and it gives me some time to hear other’s testimonial :-)

Well I finally upgraded, and it was actually quite easy. None of my plugins broke. I was pleasantly surprised!
I haven’t taken the plunge yet. Most of the complaints I have heard from those that have, have been regarding the admin and widget area.
